Can't decide on wedding flowers.?

I want to keep it simple, but do not like calla lilies. I do like wildflowers, but no sunflowers. My colors are dark blue (midnight/sapphire) and white. I%26#039;m thinking about adding a little accent of yellow, but can%26#039;t decide. My wedding is in May and because of that, I am feeling very overwhelmed on all the available flowers. I was maybe thinking of white carnations, daises, babies breath and blue roses, but don%26#039;t know if that is too fancy for what I want. Any suggestions would greately be appriciated.

You%26#039;ve got some lovely ideas there for flowers. Other flowers you might consider are: bachelor%26#039;s buttons (ironic name, I know, but they%26#039;re a lovely deep blue and closer to wildflowers than your blue roses), heather (which comes in purple or white), snapdragons (they come in a lucious soft yellow as well as a positive rainbow of pastel shades), forget me nots (pretty, soft blue with yellow centers), or larkspur (comes in blue, purple, pink, white).

I love the idea of sticking mostly with wildflowers rather than the same sorts of flower everyone else carries.

Most of all, have fun putting your flowers together. Choose flowers you like and don%26#039;t let anyone talk you into those cala lillies if you don%26#039;t want them.

Reply:White carnations, daises, babies breath and blue roses are the cheapest and cheapest-looking flowers you could get! No, no, no. These are florist filler-flowers. The blue roses are not natural...they%26#039;re made by soaking the stems in blue dye - which causes the roses to expire early (do you want a dead bouquet?).

Check out the bridal bouquets on the martha stewart website for inspiration. Do all white with little blue flowers in between.

what if you did a mixed boquet of all white flowers? some daisies, some carnations, some lillies, some orchards---with blue satin ribbon going half way down the stems to hold the boquet together?
Reply:I had an April wedding that was really simple. I used orchids. You get many on one stalk and they go a long way. Plus they come in a variety of colors. If you search orchid bouquets you can see a variety of styles in the picture areas. You can have it as simple or as fancy as you would like.

And they order flowers from all over the world- she had a book of 100 and 100 of flowers. I must have saw 100 in just pink and they had a whole yellow section.

I haven%26#039;t decided on my flowers either, but here are some I really like: white roses (dipped in blue, perhaps), blue iris, white asiatic lilies (I don%26#039;t like calla lilies either), belladonna, chatham island forget-me-nots, morning glory (these have yellow in the middle, so that would be good if you decide to import yellow). Most likely I will go with a simple bouquet of white roses dipped in blue, maybe with jewels, or blue irises with white asiatic lilies. I hope this helps and congratulations!

im having a baby sister and would like help on picking a suitable name. the name must be arabic/urdu/persian or any other muslim names as we are muslim. any suggestions?

Reply:I got to help name both my younger sisters. either Jessinia or Parisa, Celina is to common and mainstream. A unique name will always be remembered, especially on a resume. Plus when shes older she can go by Jess, or Paris....

i%26#039;ave been feeding cracked corn to muscovy ducks, mothers and babies. they got in my flower bed and ate a white $10 petunia. what can i do or use to discourage them.

I raise muscovies, and they Love flowers and vegies. Darned birds. But, spraying the flowers with a mix of dish soap in water will make the flowers unpalatable, and it actually kills many pest insects.

Feeding corn to muscovies isn%26#039;t a great idea. If these are Your ducks, and not wild, invest in some game bird feed. With the price of feed corn skyrocketing, it doesn%26#039;t cost much more than the corn, and it%26#039;s WAY better for them. Even scratch grain is better than corn for a muscovy.

Put tomato fence around precious flowers (those wire cones that you get at the garden center) and spray with dish soap in water.

What is a proper show of condolence for a mother who lost her baby?

I work for an OB/GYN and one of my patients gave birth only a few months ago, but recently lost her baby due to complications of an illness. She and her husband are wonderful people and it shouldn%26#039;t be a thing anyone has to go through. It has especially been getting to me since I heard the news this afternoon. She%26#039;s coming back for an appointment soon, and I don%26#039;t know what to do. I just lost my mom a few months back and although I cried everytime the phone rang from a relative or friend calling or opening a sympathy card, it really did help. I was thinking of getting her just some potting flowers or something as a small gesture of my condolence, but I%26#039;m not sure if it would be proper, or if I should do anything at all. Just trying to get some ideas.

The best thing you can do is be kind to her. Getting her a gift might make her think the whole office is talking about her. That would be the first thing that would come to my mind if someone from my OB office gave me a gift like that. I would think if you were close to this person it would be okay. Otherwise it%26#039;s best not to approach her about this subject as it is very sensitive. If she brings it up with you personally then you can talk with her about it. Otherwise no gifts.
Reply:Acknowledge her loss, even if u cry thats ok, its is SAD! I work as a midwife, when a baby dies I often cry too (and when I see them later down the street sometimes too) it shows u r human and that u feel for them in a real way. A littel gift or card is ok but ur thoughts and acceptance of them would mean more. Ur patients r lucky to have u!

Reply:I can tell that you genuinely care for this woman, but the most I would do is offer her verbal condolences. It sounds like you have a professional/patient relationship with her. You have a legal and moral obligation to protect her confidentiality. It seems crazy, but with all the HIPPA laws, I%26#039;d hate for someone to misconstrue your well intentioned gift or card. Talk it over with the OB before you do anything. She may value her confidentiality at the doc%26#039;s office and not having to discuss her grief as she does with famiy and friends.
Reply:When you see her, look her in the eye and say kindly %26quot;I%26#039;m so sorry for your loss.%26quot; That%26#039;s what a mother most needs to hear at such a time. I know because I suffered a miscarriage with my first pregnancy. Then I went on to have 3 healthy pregnancies. But it hurt me most when people wanted to gloss over my loss and my pain. Its kindest to acknowledge the loss directly and express your sorrow over it directly to her.

Give her a beautiful card with an offer to help out in any way necessary. You can pass it around to the other employees in the Dr.%26#039;s office and have everyone sign it. You could take up a collection of $5 per person and buy her and her husband an engraved picture frame with her child%26#039;s name on it. It will be a keepsake of her few precious memories of her child. She can place a picture she took of her baby before he/she passed away in the frame. Most mothers need to feel the child they lost is remembered.

The idea of the flowers is lovely. I%26#039;m sure that would mean a great deal to her. You can also find books about grief and recovering from the loss of a child through Amazon, you may want to buy her one.

You and your coworkers could attend the funeral and there pass around a sign up sheet for the other ladies to offer to bring her dinner every night for two weeks after the funeral in order to comfort her and allow her and her husband to grieve without worrying over cooking and cleanup at dinner time. They might not eat properly if no one sees to that so that is the most important advice, give them the gift of prepared meals. This is going to be such a heartbreakingly difficult time for this poor Mommy.
Reply:Personally, I would just let it be and not say anything. This happened to my friend last month and from the things I have learned is that the parents are so overwhelmed with condolences that they get rather fed up with them and just want to move on and come to peace with it, without everyone trying to feel for them all the time. I never said anything and just told her that if she ever needed to talk then I was there, and if she wanted to hang out I was here and it was going to be up to her if we talked about it at all. So, I always wait for her to bring it up. If she comes in and brings it up, then say something nice but I wouldn%26#039;t do anything else. I know that it hurts, and I am so sorry you are going through this, I know the pain, but we have to let these mothers be strong. The fact that we need to give, in order to feel comfortable with this, isn%26#039;t always the answer. Godbless you.
Reply:i honestly have no idea what would be the best thing for them. i don%26#039;t know that anyone would since everyone heals differently, but i do have one thought. perhaps she may need people to treat her normally, as if nothing has changed between you. while she may be trying to get her mind off of it, others are probably constantly reminding her. but i certainly don%26#039;t want to suggest something that would come off as offensive. my heart goes out to this family, and i hope that someone will be able to offer some more useful advice.

From the time i got pregnant, i%26#039;ve been fighting a lot with my husband. His no-care attitude with the baby, makes me mad. He says i get mad too fast f%26#039;r the slightest reason. I dont know, but it%26#039;s getting into me. I feel like leaving him but i also love him too much. He%26#039;s a fine man, brings me flowers and cards and takes me out most of the time. But we fight and we fight bad. I hit him and he hits me back. When he hits me, it hurts bad and i get mad like a devil. What%26#039;s goin on here? does anyone know?

Reply:Post partom depression could be a contributing factor. Men do get jealous and it is a big change to have a new baby and hard for some to adjust. The hitting is not a good thing at all. That is crossing boundaries. What will that teach your child. I think that you should both go to see a marriage counseler together.

Reply:This is something that should NEVER go on in any relationship. ESPECIALLY when there is a child in the home!! You MUST seek a marriage councilor immediately!! Make the call, as soon as possible or get away from each other. In the meantime, you need to control yourself and stop hitting him. Reply:The first part of your question sounds like you had hormone imbalance. This can occur during pregnancy and years after. It can cause erradic behavior on your part.

The second part of your question sounds like you both are out of control. Hitting is NEVER an option for you or him. If it has gone this far I suggest you divorce. Even with hormone treatment the mental scars from the physical abuse you have inflicted upon each other will never fully heal. Once you become parents the priority is the child. Your baby does not need to be in this environment. Seek medical help for the hormone imbalance and psychiatric counseling for the abuse. If you don%26#039;t learn a healthy way to express yourself it will be only a matter of months before you both start hitting the baby.

It takes time for you, your body to adjust to the hormone change, body image is different, and now also sleepless nights, responsibilities. Get self-control or learn how to from a good therapist in your area, NOW!PRONTO! You guys need somebody who can help you through this, and the answer is not to hit or fight. It is okay to argue, but you also have to after the argument, and cleared the air by talking, COMMUNICATION, you need time for each other to make up! Reply:I believe it happens to most new parents, the quarreling part I meant. Whether good or bad reason, there must have been something big that caused him to hit you.

I agree what others have said, you guys got to go counseling. You guys might also want to try talking about you guys issue as if it was a third party%26#039;s issue. Like %26quot;I have this friend who%26#039;s married for 5 year, now expecting... %26quot;. It works most of the time because most of us are more objective about others issues and doesn%26#039;t feel confronted upon that easily.

In my opinion, try the third party approach first, and let that lead to the counseling bit.

Reply:Listen! Times do get a little rough when you have a new addition to the family but that is no excuse for domestic violence. If he hits you, it will only be time before he will hit your child. And that is unexcuseable! You need to get out while you can before you end up afraid for your life and have no way to escape. Is there any chance that I can stop my cat from killing baby bunnies?

My cat killed two today. I got one from her, but it didn%26#039;t last long after I brought it in the house. She had broke her neck. I spanked her for it. I didn%26#039;t know what else to do. Then, maybe two hours later, there was another one on the porch. Already dead and smaller, but I didn%26#039;t see it. Fortunately, my mother found it. We also have a mama finch that has nested in a hanging basket of flowers and laid eggs. My cat sits out there and watches it and I%26#039;m afraid that when they hatch and finally try to fly, she is going to try to kill them. My cat, Baby, we found her and took her in. She was a ferrel cat and it took me months to get her to let me even touch her without being attacked , so she has bonded closely with me. I can%26#039;t keep her if this is going to continue, though and I know it%26#039;s her nature, so I%26#039;m not optimistic, but thought I%26#039;d ask anyway. I%26#039;m not heartless. That%26#039;s not the only reason why I would give her away. This is just the last straw. Any advice?

you can put a couple of bells around her neck (more than one because she will learn how to move so that ne doesnt ring)... but thats not going to stop her killing baby animals because the babies wont be able to get away in time.

spanking her wont make any difference - hunting is what cats do.

giving her away wont help either - she will just kill animals at someone elses house.

the only way you can stop it is to keep her inside - turn her into an inside cat. itll take a few weeks of training.

This is way to early to be concerned. Kids develope at different stages. So her motor skills is not as advanced, no biggie. After 2, if she still doesn%26#039;t walk at ease (may still wobble at times), then maybe. THey don%26#039;t start walking like adults until about 3.

Reply:Her being petite isnt a concern if you and your husband are average height. She might need occupational therapy. Some pediatricians are really not concern over some things or dont have the knowledge. My son had mild autism and his ped. always said he was a late bloomer and he wasnt. Right now i get him evaluated by a developmental pediatrician and i think you should do the same if your daughter has difficulty in the motor skills areas. I see she is very bright and talks, so she might only need occupational or physical therapy. There are some schools that start talking kids at 2 , and this helps the child a lot. Just look for an early childhood center . They even evaluate the kids sometimes. Good luck!

A co-worker was recently admitted to the hospital for illness and she ended up losing her unborn baby. I want to do something but I%26#039;m not sure what%26#039;s appropriate. We aren%26#039;t terribly close but we have always been friendly. Are flowers appropriate? What words do you use to convey you%26#039;re happy they are healthy but sorry for the loss?

And, be ready for her to need to talk even if it is months later. If you feel it really necessary to mention her recovery, just say you are glad she is doing better, and let it go. I think she is probably blaming herself for the loss, and reminding her that her health came at the expense of her unborn child is a hard thing to handle. Flowerd are nice, or a live plant is a nice gesture, and completely appropriate. It will help her feel like someone acknowledged her loss and grief. Reply:A miscarriage needs the same grief process as any death. Try to be understanding.

A touch, a hug, a very brief comment or a handwritten card will do wonders. Don%26#039;t hug unless you are close enough with her. Flowers are nice but they too die.

When she comes back to work she will have phases when she will be grieving. Try to be understanding and if appropriate, try to ease her workload for a while. If you are in a position at work where you have contact with the public, be aware that a woman who loses a child may react emotionally to the sound or sight of a small child or baby. See what you (or the office) can do to lessen that exposure for a while.

I just found out that a friend lost her full-term baby during delivery last night. I want to convey my sadness for her and her husband, but I don%26#039;t know if it is appropriate to call or send flowers. If I talk to her, what should I say? I can%26#039;t begin to imagine the pain of carrying a child for nine months only to lose it in the delivery room...

Thats terrible for her....something like that would crush you! I couldnt imagine that. Definately dont call because thats not personal enough. You could buy her a plant or a rose instead so she can plant it somewhere and feel close to the baby she lost. Sometimes u dont need to say much but by making yourself available and simply hugging and letting her know u care and are there if she needs you will mean alot. And dont forget about her in a month, she will need your shoulder for alot longer. Even maker her meals little things mean alot.

Just want to add that i had an ectopic pregnancy and i have a teddy bear (given when i found out i was preg) and also a small vase with flowers now dried that remind me of the baby.

A very close friend of mine just had a baby on the 24th and lost her mother to cancer less than a week later. She just found out about the cancer in December, so this is all very sudden. To top it off, she had to have a c-section, so she couldn%26#039;t even get to the hospital to visit her, because she herself was still in the hospital. They were best friends, and I don%26#039;t know how she%26#039;s going to cope with all that%26#039;s on her plate right now, especially with her #1 supporter having passed away.

Any ideas for a great care package filled with goodies to cheer her up will be WONDERFUL!

So far, I have things like, flowers, her favorite foods, tissues... but I need more.

She loves pink, she%26#039;s 32, she%26#039;s girly, but not foo -foo frilly..

She has to take care of baby, AND take care of all the arrangements. Any ideas to help get her through would be great...

im sorry to her about your friends loss. I too just had a baby and what has helped me the most is someone there to help cook and clean. also, i had really bad baby blues. make sure there is someone with your friend all the time, i never asked for help but when i was alone it was horrible. Offer to help dont wait for her to ask.

As for gifts... i like the idea of a journal or books on CD. She wont have too much time to sit down and read. I listen to mine while in traffic or driving the baby to sleep. maybe an hour massage or pedicure/manicure. You should do something that is for her since she will be doing so much for others right now. good luck.

My best friend moved away last Decemeber, she is 30yo, and since then her and her husband had gotten pregnant. She had a complicated pregnancy the entire time, and last wk at approx 6ms pregant, she lost the baby. She is not doing so well, and I know it is going to take a long time to learn how to cope with it. I thought of the idea to put a box together for her, me and some other friends, instead of just sending her flowers, like everyone else. I am trying to think of some good things to put in her box, that will show her how many people care about her and just try to make her feel a little bit better. Does anyone have any suggestions to what I could include in there? Thank you in advance:)

My one friend took me out for a day of pampering and it was very nice to have a little time where I felt like I could clear my head just her and I. Another gave us a seedling to plant and that meant alot as well. I would suggest something like that if you feel like you want to do something for them or her. Just let her know you are there for them right now, that alone means alot. No matter how far you are in your pregnancy it is still a very hard thing to cope with. We were full term when we lost our precious daughter and although yes it is hard, I know we will get through this and I just have to believe she is in a better place.

What meant the most to me (from those who couldn%26#039;t actually talk to me in person) were the beautiful cards and notes that expressed their compassion. Also, things such as an angel pin that was to remind me that my loved one is in heaven now, and a framed Bible verse: Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted. Matthew 5:4. Perhaps a cute Precious Moments figurine, or something similar that is special to your friend would be nice. Your friend is fortunate to have a friend like you who is trying to make her feel better. Our bible study group is getting together a gift for someone in our group who just miscarried and someone had the idea of including a Willow Tree angel in the gift. Have you seen those? Apparently they have different angels for different purposes and there is a %26quot;Rememberance Angel%26quot; to honor the loss of a loved one. You may want to include one of those. It%26#039;s a great idea to do what you%26#039;re doing, and I%26#039;m sure she%26#039;ll know how much you all care about her.

Perhaps between being able to relax and having her friend with her it will help her to ease the pain of her loss. By the way I%26#039;m so sorry this happened. Know this, that baby is not really dead. The baby is now in Heaven with God. And if she accepts Christ or if she has done it already she will get to be with her child in Heaven. So if she accepts Christ she may have lost her child on Earth. However, she will be reunited with the child in Heaven.

Get your friends together to brain storm. Suggestions: Chocolate (of course.) Books (coping with death, inspirational, or something lighthearted - %26quot;Happiness is a Warm Puppy%26quot; comes to mind.) A gift certificate toward a day spa (or hairdresser, massage, manicure, or pedicure.) A charm for her bracelet or necklace, engraved with the name if it was picked out already. A snapshot of the happy couple from before this. Videos or CDs - again sappy or inspirational. A calling card if she doesn%26#039;t already have long distance - to call her friends.

I friend of mine recently lost her husband. She said most of her friends quit calling. Call your friend, even if it is just to say %26quot;Hi, I%26#039;m thinking of you.%26quot; It may seem awkward at first, but it gets easier. Take your clues from her. If she wants to talk about the baby, let her, if not, don%26#039;t press.

Don%26#039;t forget the husband. As big and as manly as he might be, he is suffering their loss, too, and may be very upset that his wife is hurting so much also.

Also, if you could find an encouraging book for her (Chicken Soup for the Soul--type), especially related to her situation or to her personal faith if you can find it. If you know what kind of snacks or treats she likes (gourmet coffee or chocolates) that might be good to include as well.

That along with a sweet card with personal notes would be a sweet and thoughtful way to reach out to her.

I don%26#039;t know if they had named the baby or had any sort of memorial, but if you feel it would be appropriate you might consider placing a book in a children%26#039;s library (either public community library or her church library) in memory of this baby. (Or just in their names?)

The reason this would be special is that one day, if/when she has other children, she might have the opportunity to share this book with those children and somehow connect them to the baby she lost. I would only do this if you thought it would mean something to her and not add to her pain somehow.

The other thing sort of similar to this you could do is to send her a seedling of a tree to plant in their yard in memory of this child. I have given bushes or trees to families who have lost children or loved ones and they have expressed that it was a very special remembrance. Since you are doing this long-distance that may be kind of trick to pull off, but it%26#039;s a thought.

It is a living memorial, where a tree is planted in memory of the loved one.

Some names of organizations who do this are treegivers.com, treepeople.org, and there are several others.

Google it to find the specifics for the state she lives in. There is a wheeping willow at a lake near where I live with a small plaque under it as a memorial. I am always touched by it and the tree is so beautiful it gives pleasure to everyone who sees it.
Reply:I wouldnt go all out for something like that. Really it is so personal she may not want people to make it a big deal, everytime they do it reminds her of her lose. If I were you a simple card to know you care and that you are there for her is all that is needed. You dont have to focus on the baby but focus on a friendship that is unconditional and let her know that no matter what she goes through she is in your thoughts and prayers and whenever she needs you you will be there for her. My mother lost 2 babies and we made her a bracelet with the stones of the birth months of when the twins would have been born. It was really hard for her to accept it and truthfully the only thing that will help her heal is time buit presents that symbolize the babies life to teach her not to forget them or things that symbolize hope are really good ideas...

A very close friend of mine just had a baby on the 24th and lost her mother to cancer less than a week later. She just found out about the cancer in December, so this is all very sudden. To top it off, she had to have a c-section, so she couldn%26#039;t even get to the hospital to visit her, because she herself was still in the hospital. They were best friends, and I don%26#039;t know how she%26#039;s going to cope with all that%26#039;s on her plate right now, especially with her #1 supporter having passed away.

Any ideas for a great care package filled with goodies to cheer her up will be WONDERFUL!

So far, I have things like, flowers, her favorite foods, tissues... but I need more.

She loves pink, she%26#039;s 32, she%26#039;s girly, but not foo -foo frilly..

She has to take care of baby, AND take care of all the arrangements. Any ideas to help get her through would be great...

Are there things that She did with her Mom that she can continue to share with her baby??....If you can think of things Her Mom would do for her...now that the baby is here??....Buy her things you would know her Mom would do for her...Help her take care of as many of the arrangements for her as possible....The more you take off of her the better she will be able to deal with it.....Get as many of her friends as you can to help...especially if she doesn%26#039;t have any family around her....Stay with her as much as possible....She%26#039;s going to have a lot of ups and downs.....She want be getting much sleep....She%26#039;ll be needing people with her day and night for a while....Being There is a great thing to give her!!

Reply:Get a nice diamond necklace on for the cat, shiny white big fat diamonds. Avoid punk stuff there it will look strange and out of place, if u want that stuff get it elsewhere. If you add something you will probably have to get it filled otherwise an outline will look bad with other stuff inside of it.

My sister in law has had a still born baby.?

My sister in law went into labour last night, but unfortunately, due to complications, the baby died.

I have never seen eye to eye with my sister in law, but my heart goes out to her at this time.

What should I do. She is still in hospital at the moment and I do not think she is up to visitors. Would it be ok to send her flowers along with a card saying how sorry we are and that if she needs anything, we are here!

I have never had to do this sort of thing before so am not sure what is appropriate.

Flowers and a card are nice, but I also think during times like these, helping in other ways is just as nice. I know she’s probably numb and kind of depressed at the moment and won’t want to do anything for a while. (I assume) Helping around the house, or cooking meals and freezing them for her to eat later on…sometimes that helps so much more. I know right now it’s early, and flowers and a card should be fine, but ask later down the road when a little time has passed if you can help in other ways.

Call your brother and ask if there is anything you can do at their home before your sister-in-law is released from the hospital. Reply:I went through the same thing as you 8 months ago. My Sister-In-Law lost her baby at 19 weeks.

Show your grief to her and your sorrow. Send her flowers and tell her how sorry you are for her and your brothers loss. The pain that they are going through is heart breaking to stand and see. Be strong for them and do what they say when they need it.

I went over to there house and cleaned up for them, like getting some of the baby books off the coffee table and little things like that. Go out and get her some yummy food, since hospital food tastes like dog food.

I am sorry for your loss also. Everyone int he family will be heartbroken and it takes time and tender loving care.

Our little Isaac has a memorial web site that we all go to and we post messages to him and to help Mommy %26amp; Daddy with the grieving process.

The wife of the man doing the design for my web site just lost her baby last night. I know know him, but never spoke to his wife. I want to offer words of comfort. What is the best thing to do? Send flowers or a card? Are there any words or verses, that can offer solice and peace in a time like this? It was their first child. I feel just so sad for them.

definitely send a card...it will mean so much to her that you, just a person her husband works for, cares enough (even though you don%26#039;t know her) to send a card...

what i would say would be to offer your condolences, if you%26#039;ve lost a loved one before, you can tell them that and that you know what it%26#039;s like to lose a loved one and that you%26#039;ll be praying for them...of if you haven%26#039;t, then you can say that you can%26#039;t even imagine the pain of losing a child and that you%26#039;ll be praying for them...

i don%26#039;t know if you%26#039;re a Christian, but if you are, then i%26#039;d offer some words of comfort about God...don%26#039;t quote the Bible, but just say how He%26#039;s always been there to comfort you and He is willing to be there to comfort her...

be honest and just express how sad you are for them and that even though u don%26#039;t know her, you are sad...it will mean a lot to her...

if you want to cook something for her, that would be a nice thing, too...ask her if she would like some time alone with her husband and offer to give him some days off and to come back when he%26#039;s ready, kind of thing...

it%26#039;s very nice of you to want to do something like this for someone you don%26#039;t know...too bad there aren%26#039;t more people out there who feel true sympathy for people...

its been almost a year. A week after my baby was born he visited me at home and did%26#039;nt bring me or anybody anything. I did%26#039;nt receive a greeting card nor flowers. I know he did%26#039;nt forget cause one of my relatives asked him to pitch in with a bigger gift and he never got back with him.

What the f is wrong with him? I even purchased a flower arrangement for his girlfriend who was in the hospital, during the time I was pregnant.

Now I%26#039;m wondering wether I should tell him that I%26#039;m kinda mad at him -and why- or just leave it at that??

Spring cleaning time!!!!I have aot of dried flowers in baskets all over my home mostly babies breath and roses that are dried...How do I get the dust off them??? Any suggestions??

The best method I have found is using a Swiffer dust cloth. You can either use the cloths for the floor Swiffers or look for a dusting tool (also made by Swiffer) with fluffy replacement heads in a box. Just gently wipe over the surfce with these cloths to remove the dust...

The more delicate dried flowers may do better with being dusted off my an air-can duster. These can be found at office supply stores as they are used for dusting computer keyboards etc. Just make sure when you use the air can you stand back far enough so the air stream pressure is lessened...

Also, remember that dried flowers also have a shelf life. When they get too tattered or too dusty or too crumbly--it%26#039;s time to say goodbye.

For the birth of my first son, my husband gave me a three stone aquamarine ring set in white gold. (Aquamarine is my son%26#039;s birthstone). He actually bought it before my son was born. I was scheduled to be induced and when we got to the hospital, they had so many women in labor, they didn%26#039;t have a bed for me. :) They told us to come back in a few hours, so we went to the mall to kill some time. hee hee

For the birth of my second son, my husband bought me a ruby (my second son%26#039;s birthstone) pendant.

There are many things a parent can do to honor their baby who has died. No matter the cause- miscarriage, stillbirth, SIDS, health issues, or otherwise- the impact this tiny person has on your heart and on your life will stay with you forever. There is no %26quot;getting over%26quot; the death of your child.

As bereaved parents many of us do specific things to honor our children%26#039;s memory: planting a tree or flowers, donating momentos to your local hospital for newly bereaved parents, donating books for your library on grief and loss, or even voluteering your time at a local children%26#039;s shelter...

There is no %26quot;guide book%26quot; to follow after you lose a much wanted and very loved baby, there are no %26quot;rules%26quot; for grief- no right or wrong in how you honor the child who has passed away.

Please share with us your thoughts and ideas- you may be able to help a parent who has had their heart broken and dreams shattered by this devastating loss.

I have a special shelf with my baby girl%26#039;s picture, a few little stuffed animals that were to be hers, the prayer card and crosses from her funeral, other little trinkets, and a pink birthday candle that my son and I light then blow out (after we tell her %26quot;Happy Birthday%26quot;) every year on the day of her birth/death day.

Since my daughter was born with severe birth defects, I have made a few small donations to the March of Dimes. I also wear a March of Dimes Saving Babies wristband.

I have a tattoo on my back of her name in a heart.

I added her name to a few online baby memorial walls.

I don%26#039;t live in the state where she is buried, but when I did, I would visit her grave, take flowers, and talk to her.

She is forever in my heart. A parent does not get over losing a child, but you can get through it, by doing whatever it takes.

Reply:My Best Friend had a still birth when she was 6 months pregnant. It was extremely sad.. he weighed only 8oz when he was born but he was perfect.. tiny toes, nose, ears everything was perfectly formed.

The hospital gave her a tiny hat %26amp; they put his litle footprints on a card. They have his ashes are in a beautiful box in their room.

Her husband also bought her a sterling silver charm braclet with his name on a heart. Now that she has a daughter (who just turned one) she also has her daughters name on another charm on the braclet.
Reply:When my brother died it seemed like everyone was in so much pain, but after a couple of years passed we planted a tree in our backyard and my grandma asked us one thing that we remembered about him, our favorite and she made these cement blocks with stained glass pictures of the stuff, like my moms was a sun and mine was these cups that he used to play with all the time, etc. We also look at pictures and tell stories about all the things remember about him. As time passes it is not as hard to talk about him, instead now we remember the good times.

What I remeber is that the movie starts out with a song and shows the unicorn goin around. Everywhere he goes his horn makes flowers grow, and whenever people are fighting his horn makes them love. The people eventually get rid of the uncorns because they want to have wars and he is the last. At some point in the movie he meets a baby monster who%26#039;s father is very big, but has been turned to stone. The baby monster can summon lightning, and after a little coaxing joins the unicorn%26#039;s entourage. Towards the end of the movie, a girl who is friends with the unicorn gets seduced by some young looking sorcerer guy. The unicorn and friends try to save her and the sorcerer turns into a dragon or something. Then the baby unicorn uses his power to become an adult unicorn and defeat the dragon. Where can I find inexpensive toddler/baby decor and furniture?

We have a 2 1/2 yr. old daughter and her room looks so plain. We have her toddler bed that is oak that we bought from Toy%26#039;s R Us and a couple of small book shelves and all her toys, the wall has a middle border of pink and blue (pastel) colored flowers. I want maybe a dresser and some wall art and maybe something to store toys in, even though she takes all her toys out and scatters them everwhere. Any suggestions? It doesn%26#039;t have to be new...I can%26#039;t ever find the great blowout sales where everything is marked down, except for clothing, I%26#039;m good at finding sales on clothes...anyway, any ideas? We also have a new baby girl due in June, and we already have a crib and changing table, so maybe a dresser (in oak) for her room would be great too...any thoughts? We are in the central Texas area. Hi ... try some consignment shops or any of the charities, ie. Salvation Army or St. Vincent de Paul etc. It%26#039;s kind of fun to rummage around and find hidden treasures. Kids not only quickly grow out of clothes but furniture as well so these places are packed. Garage sales are also huge for hidden treasures. It%26#039;s amazing what a quick scrub or coat of paint can do. For unique decor, try %26quot;Michael%26#039;s%26quot;. They carry a small child size unpainted chest that is adorable. You can paint/ stain it and then add designs if you want ... like stencils. All really inexpensive and can be lots of fun. Enjoy!

For wall art: Some of the dollar stores near me have those large repositionable wallpaper stickers (flowers, butterflies, frogs, balloons, etc...). Also, check dollar stores and craft stores for papercrafting supplies. Some of the scrapbooking paper now is so gorgeous that you can just frame the paper itself. At 16 cents a page or less, it%26#039;s pretty darn cheap--and easy to swap out if you change your mind. Or buy an extra copy of a well-loved children%26#039;s book at a yard sale and frame individual pages. Another easy way to get wall art is to staple an interesting piece of fabric around a stretched canvas from the art store. You can re-use the canvas any number of times, and change the theme of the fabric print to match any age or interest.

For storage containers: the Family Dollar stores have a fair selection of plastic storage drawers and bins at a good price (I like the the 18-qt dishpans for household organization). Some of the Dollar Tree stores also have a good selection of plastic bins, but they%26#039;re not nearly as sturdy. Michael%26#039;s and AC Moore craft stores (around here, anyway) regularly have woven reed laundry baskets on sale for about $6 apiece-- these are a decent size, pretty sturdy, and would hold lots of toys. They have loads of other baskets, but they%26#039;re much more expensive.

If you%26#039;re not picky about having matching baskets or baskets of a specific size, you can often find old gift baskets or hampers on Craigslist or at yard sales.

ok i dont but that made the room look so cool, and the paint cost me 20 dollars!!! for the pictures i took some old picture frames i had and painted them with the green, which is a kelly green, and then i took zebra scrapbook paper and that was the background, and then a pink and green paisley and i cut a smaller rectangle for the center, then i found wood painted flowers and glued them in the center. then i found zebra ribbon and hung them with that. target always has great things, and you dont necessarliy have to shop in the kids section, even the industrial sections might have some things you could use. i would just be creative!!!

Should i stay just because we have a baby?

Me and my partner have got a 10 month old baby together, We have been together for 4 years and live together.

I%26#039;m really unhappy at the moment, he never wants to do anything with us and if he does drag himself away from his playstation he doesn%26#039;t stop complaining. I work 3 days a week but because he works 5 i%26#039;m expected to get up with our baby every night and i%26#039;m exhausted because of it. I clean the house, do all the shopping and sort out anything finacial.

If he does hoover the house he expects a gold medal for doing so and if i dont say thanks straight away he wont speak to me for the rest of the day.

Me and my daughter come second to his playstation and its really starting to get me down, i feel like a single parent. I have tried to tell him so many times and i get a bunch of flowers and he changes into the man i met and want for a whole week then slowly goes back ro his way.

Please help, what should i do? I love him and my daughter so much and i really do%26#039;n want to break up.

Never, ever stay just for the sake of the baby. If you and your partner really do love each other, you%26#039;ll find some way, somehow that things can work between the two of you. BUT, if you%26#039;ve exhausted all your efforts on making things work, then I encourage you to get out. She is 21 yrs old and studying to be a pharmacist. We keep in touch and love each other very much. Had I married her deadbeat Father, who knows what would have happened. Kids are not stupid they can see the tension in your relationship, or they grow up looking for one like it. You are a role model, your life will be a pattern for your child to follow. If you have a boy do you really want him to grow up just like good ole dad? Or if you have a girl do you really want her to involve herself in a loveless relationship. Concentrate on your child and what is BEST for him/her. Maybe you will meet a man who will be a partner and a father, if not, you CAN be both mom and dad.

I figured I was the most responsible and I didn%26#039;t want any one taking care of those babies but me. It can really switch around and you can get so protective over them that you don%26#039;t want ANYONE touching them. I was very overprotective. As far as the PlayStation let him have some enjoyment in life. At least when he is in front of it he is at home and not running the streets. Reply:It sounds like you guys have a communication problem, first off. He seems a bit old-fashioned as far as home and child responsibilities also. Many women are expected to come home everyday and work %26quot;the second shift%26quot; which refers to the responsibilities at home being as overwhelming as a second job. Today, the male should take on domestic responsibilities to working mothers. I suggest that you see a marriage therapist or someone else %26quot;trusted%26quot; that could serve as mediator. Some couples do not communicate at all, and need help simply learning to communicate in a healthy manner. Being divorced, both my ex and I are single parents and trust me, it is harder that way. In all honesty, we still gave up too soon, in retrospect. At least try and work things out.

A co-worker of mine lost his 3 week old baby. The baby died from heart failure.

I went to the funeral today and hugged him and then hugged his wife and said, %26quot;I am so sorry.%26quot; She said %26quot;Thank you for coming, it means so much to us%26quot;

I smiled and said %26quot;I am glad I could be here for you.%26quot; Then I looked at all the flowers around us and the casket and said, %26quot;Everything looks so beautiful for him.%26quot;

Afterwards I was thinking maybe I shouldn%26#039;t have said that because its supposed to be a sad time, not a %26quot;beautiful%26quot; time. I meant that everything was beautiful for the baby and it showed how much he was loved.

Ideas for trendy baby shower?

I am planning a %26quot;Mod Mom%26quot; themed baby shower for my sister-in-law. The colors are purple and green. I am trying to come up with some unique centerpieces for the tables that will also serve as gifts for a guest at each table. I am trying to come up with something trendy to go with the theme, rather than just flowers or candles. Any ideas?

I like the flowers or candles idea. For a shower I just threw I also gave out bath bombs and customized lip balms as shower favors. I made fun cocktails and mocktails too. My friends baby%26#039;s nickname is Lollipop (just something they are going to call her while in the womb)... so I made a Sucker Punch cocktail (basically a Sangria) and a Lollipop Pop (cranberry juice and gingerale).

I didn%26#039;t want corny games so I went to babyshowerstuff.com and bought a ultrasound image game and a baby trivia game. It was fun and not cheesy.

There was no eating babyfood or any other typical shower games.

I also put together a cool playlist on my ipod so the mood was more like a party not a baby shower.

she%26#039;s my closest friend and is having a baby girl just as I write this. It is her first child and she is also the first of my friends to have a baby, so... I%26#039;m really in need of some good suggestions as to what to get her as a gift. I won%26#039;t be able to see her for a few weeks so I wanted to send her something until then. I don%26#039;t want tp send flowers becasue I think they%26#039;re so impersonal and just too easy. I want to to do something to let her know how happy and proud I am of her. Should I include her husband too? Is that a stupid question? I sometimes feel like the men kind of lose out on the %26quot;Congratulations%26quot;. I know she%26#039;s the one who really deserves the gift for going through the labor. I would love to hear some suggestions. Thanks!

Here are some ideas:

If you are sending something to the hospital, a baby-themed mug with flowers is really nice. I know you said no flowers, but when I was in the hosp. having my son I got one and it really brightened up the room and didn%26#039;t take up too much space, plus every time I looked at it it reminded me that person had thought of me.

Imagine if no one sent flowers!

OR - find a local restaurant she likes that delivers and send her a meal to the hospital. Hospital food stinks, and after the baby you%26#039;re usually STARVING, and they usually don%26#039;t give you frequent enough meals.

OR - send a care package of her favorite foods (nutritious and easy to prepare) to the house. The first two weeks are really hard in terms of sleeping and eating.

Yes, include her husband - he will be exhausted too, and starving too....

Then send something nice to the house like a really adorable outfit - buy 3-6 months unless the baby is under 7 pounds - they grow out of the 0-3 stuff so fast.

When you go to visit, the best gift would be to give her a homemade coupon for %26quot;1 day of housework%26quot; or such: do the laundry, dishes, grocery shopping etc. Everyone wants to hold the baby or babysit when what you really need is help around the house so you can sleep or take a shower!

when i gave birth, everyone gave my baby presents, but not me, so speaking from experience try and get her something nice, like some nice beauty products or something. something to make her feel pretty, coz she%26#039;ll probably be feeling pretty yuck for the next few days! When I was in the hospital after giving birth an aunt gave me a box of chocolates addressed to both me and my husband and some lotions and soaps. The chocolate was a tasty treat for my husband and I to share. The soaps and lotions came in handy to make me feel pretty and smell pretty.

Reply:I only got one bouquet when I had my son. When my sister and brother were born, our living room was filled with flowers and balloons! Dad went through labor too-in his own way. Its harder then people think for men to see their wives in so much pain, and knowing they can%26#039;t do anything. So yes, I would say include dad, or get him a little something seperately. The best thing anyone got me was a break! After waiting and waiting for baby, its hard to believe how badly a new mother really wants to just be alone. If you have the money, I would say a little massage or something. If not, an IOU for babysitting and a movie ticket. But I would say, definately get some flowers, and a blank card that you fill out, letting her know how happy you are for her, and how proud you are. Also, send her a disposable camera with a note, that you expect it to be full of pictures of baby and the new family. It will really let her know how excited you are!

Reply:Can you get a certificate to a nice resturant in the area so they can have a wife/husband night out? That is always a good thing.

New moms can always use pampering type things as once that baby comes out, there is almost NO time for the pampering. So any nice bath set, massage cusion (they could both use that) or other pampering item would no doubt be loved.

My cousions baby passed...?

My cousions baby boy (Austin James, 7weeks) passed away friday morning at the hospital from complications of being born early. The visitation is tomorrow at 9:45. I have never been to an infints funneral. What do I say? What do I do? Do I give a card, a plant, flowers?? I have 2 girls of my own (4 and 1) and I%26#039;m worried I%26#039;m going to freak out.

It is never easy to deal with a child%26#039;s death. I recently went to the memorial for a 14 year old boy my husband and I had known since he was 3. He died fairly suddenly of cancer. I didn%26#039;t know what to say to his parents. We have been so close to them through so many problems but the death of a child is something where only a person who has lost a child can completely comprehend the feelings. Just be there for your cousin as best you can. Avoid the comments of he%26#039;s in a better place and I guess it just wasn%26#039;t meant to be. Hug you cousin and cry with them. Their pain will soften with time but there is really nothing you can do to help except be a shoulder to cry on.
Reply:Just let them know that you will always be there if they need someone to talk to, or whatever they need. I don%26#039;t know how close you are to these family members. I would bring flowers to the funeral, I think. My thoughts and prayers are with you folks during this time.

Most communities have some sort of support group to help grieveing parents. In time you may want to suggest they seek one out if they have not already. All though you don%26#039;t say, I am assuming she has a husband/partner. Be sure he receives some attention too. Men often appear stoic but are feeling the same terrible loss for just as long as the mothers.

Reply:this is a very rough time. my nephew died at 5 months...a baby%26#039;s funeral is so much more stressful than adult funerals. please give a card, money preferably than flowes, they may need the extra cash for funeral/burial expenses. just hug mom and dad....if they need to vent and cry...just let them. freak out when you are alone...be strong for mom and dad. i remember when my nephew died, me and his mother were pregnant at the same time...my daughter and her son were only 2 months apart. since my entire family was at the funeral, i had no one to watch my baby, so i had to take her. i was so nervous that by just seeing my child, the mom would lose it. she was very strong, she just hugged us and took my baby from my arms and buried her face in her neck....she just missed holding a baby. stay strong and good luck...God bless.

Reply:My very close friends baby died of SIDS at 2.5mo. It was horrible. I tossed and turned, debating what to say to her. I knew there was nothing I could say to make her feel better. I knew all I could do was tell her I loved her and I would be there for her every need.

When I first saw her, we hugged fror about 10 minutes, cried and I kept repeating %26quot;I%26#039;m so sorry...%26quot;. I just didn%26#039;t know what else to say. Eventually I got the nerve to write her a card. I found it easier to think about what I would say before I said it. I included a very sentimental poem in the card and told her I would never forget her beautiful baby, ever.

To this day, I send her cards/e-cards every year on his birthday and his death date.

An engraved gift memorializing the baby would also be very thoughful. One other idea would be to make a memorial quilt, embroidered with the baby stats etc. I saw one once that was made with peices of a babys clothing and blankies. I have yet to do this for my friends because she still periodically takes out the babys stuff to look through, and I don%26#039;t want to take that from her.

Go to a Christian book store, or Hallmark and find a very heartwarming card and maybe a gift, that will help you feel less like you have to %26quot;say%26quot; something.

There are many things a parent can do to honor their baby who has died. No matter the cause- miscarriage, stillbirth, SIDS, health issues, or otherwise- the impact this tiny person has on your heart and on your life will stay with you forever. There is no %26quot;getting over%26quot; the death of your child.

As bereaved parents many of us do specific things to honor our children%26#039;s memory: planting a tree or flowers, donating momentos to your local hospital for newly bereaved parents, donating books for your library on grief and loss, or even voluteering your time at a local children%26#039;s shelter...

There is no %26quot;guide book%26quot; to follow after you lose a much wanted and very loved baby, there are no %26quot;rules%26quot; for grief- no right or wrong in how you honor the child who has passed away.

Please share with us your thoughts and ideas- you may be able to help a parent who has had their heart broken and dreams shattered by this devastating loss.

I make special floral arrangements for my son%26#039;s grave, participate in memorial walks and services with my local Compassionate Friends chapter, volunteer with a local dog rescue group, and collect figurines of angels holding babies or baby boy angels.

We also plan to donate books to the local library with special cards pasted in them that has our son%26#039;s name and says %26quot;donated in loving memory of.%26quot; We just haven%26#039;t had the extra funds yet.

On the anniversary of his birth/death, we took the day off of work and visited his grave site. We also went to dinner that night with a bunch of family members.

We%26#039;d also like to do a live butterfly release on one of his %26quot;angelversaries%26quot; (date of death) when we have the funds. A butterfly is the symbol of rebirth and it%26#039;s also the symbol the hospital tacked on my door to make all the workers aware of the loss I had just suffered.

Everyday, I wear two special bracelets: one is a gold bracelet with two sets of praying hands and a small piece that says %26quot;In Memory of My Son%26quot; and the other is an awareness band that I bought from the Compassionate Friends that has two butterflies on it and reads %26quot;Forever in My Heart.%26quot; I also have a small angel pin made from my son%26#039;s birthstone, a mothers%26#039; necklace witha tiny boy charm on it, and a necklace with his birthstone in the shape of an angel on it.

Another plan is to sponsor an animal at the local shelter.

At Christmas, we participated in the world-wide candle lighting service to remeber our children. It was beautiful. And the hospital also had a special ceremony for the babies that had died that year.

I%26#039;ve also heard of balloon releases, special memorial services and sponsoring a third-world child as memorials to you baby.

www.missfoundation.org supports %26quot;The Kindness Project%26quot; which involves random acts of kindness done in your child%26#039;s name. They have a list of ideas on their website. If I had extra money, I would SOOOO do this.

Reply:Before I can attempt to answer this question I would like to say to any mother and father who have suffered such a tragic loss that I understand. I would like to offer to them all of my kind thoughts and prayers in their behalf. There is not a more devastating blow than the loss of a child.

Who can say when and how to mourn a loss so great? Who can judge how long to mourn?

It is what it is. The individual will process this loss in their own way, on their own and with hopefully the love and support of friends and family.

I do know that remembering, honoring the life (no matter how brief) is important. I have seen this many times. The need to memorialize is a very human need. It affords us a %26quot;place%26quot; to go that opens us up and sets the scene to remember. A memorial gives us opportunity to release our emotions and begin healing.

A memorial promotes conversations about our loss, once again a healing process of sharing our emotions and allowing others to support us through a very difficult time.

I wear a locket with their pictures in it, this is very comforting at times. I also have charm bracelet with their names engraved on two charms and for there 1st %26quot;birthday%26quot; I had stars named after them.

We raised over an amazing $7,000 in under 2 months time and received several plaques. We had about 40 people walk with us. We also made t-shirts for the immediate family and had buttons made for everyone with my son%26#039;s picture and his name, date of birth, date of death and had %26quot;walking in memory of and his name%26quot;. We planted a tree in the back yard that a friend gave us. We also made a wooden plaque with his name on it and an angel and flowers to put at his grave site. There are many things you can do. For an early mother%26#039;s day gift, my husband bought be a collared button up shirt and on the left side of the shirt, he had my son%26#039;s name, dates and %26quot;our little angel%26quot; with the angel picture on it embroidered on it. There are so many things you can do. :-)

Another idea is to have a couple meals delivered. Flowers are lovely, but you can%26#039;t eat them. A meal for a super-tired mom and hungry dad is always appreciated.
Reply:Best thing I ever bought was I got a baby bath full of everything I needed, from bum wipes to all sized dummies, I aslo got teething gel, rash cremes, thermometer, little brush and comb, nail clippers, just little things most people dont think of. even dummies of all different sizes is good, because then if they need something (and normally when something is really needed it is in the middle of the night that you realise!) it is all there!, a bath or a washing basket is fantastic because it can also be used, when you have a baby there is no such thing as too many washing baskets!!!!!

I made my own baby shower invites 4 years ago. they had a mutli colored umbrella and across the top read %26quot; April showers bring May flowers %26quot; ( Shower was the end of April and I was due the first week of May ).

On another note, most customs is that you only have a baby shower for the first baby. I only say that so if anyone seems offend that might be why. It is just something to be aware of.

ok so I am in Mrs. Herrera%26#039;s 3rd period Spanish class and she is the best teacher ever. I wanted to throw her a surprize baby shower on Friday and I talked to Mrs. Hartz who is going to call Mrs. herrera out of the room to her Classroom and Me, Ashley, and Christie will run accross the hall grab the stuff (like food, balloons, flowers...etc.)and come back into the room and set it up. If Mrs. herrera comes back early I will keep her busy outside the classroom door. When Mrs. Herrera comes back into the room everyone will yell %26quot;Surprise!%26quot; and stuff. So...

1)What should Mrs. Hartz say to Mrs. Herrera on the phone to get her out of the class?

2)What kind of food should we bring?(cant be big and noticeable its a %26quot;surprise%26quot; party)

3)How should i tell the other kids in class?

4)What should I say to Mrs. herrera outside of the door to keep her busy?

5)Is there anything else I should do?

Well. First of all, it%26#039;s not like we all know those people so please leave out the names next time?

And, congratulations for having a pregnant Spanish teacher 3rd period! [I am also in the same situation. Pregnant Spanish Teacher in 3rd period. What a coincidence. ]

Whatever you do, keep the amount of people who know about the surprise party minimal. Keep it between your class only and several trusting teachers. It%26#039;s really hard to not let anyone spoil the surprise/tell others. [I know. I%26#039;ve tried throwing a surprise party for a teacher too. She was told [by a *****..] one period early, but we were lucky enough that she didn%26#039;t believe..]

You should lead her away by having Mrs Hartz tell her that there is an emergency in the office regarding her. An excuse would be that there are two of her students [in your period] %26quot;supposedly%26quot; having a fight elsewhere. Have these two students lead her back SLOWLY to the class room so they can get their stuff [also have Mrs. Hartz bail them out of the office, if needed]. Use the time they take up to decorate and get everything ready. Be fast!

Bring cake and have Mrs. Hartz put it in a fridge somewhere at the schol. Cake is the only essential food needed for a party like this. You can also bring dry, %26quot;Just serve and eat%26quot; snacks [chips, dip, cookies, muffins, etc] . For drinks, bring something for nutritious [orange juice or water] for her and the baby and coke for everyone else.

Let the other kids know when she%26#039;s out. [If she%26#039;s always at school, have a meeting during lunch or pass a not around. This may not always work!] Make a list on who will bring what, and their number just in case.

If she comes back to early, then go outside to a fight yourself with someone else. Continuously complain while she takes time to comprise. When it%26#039;s all done, have someone call you inside with Mrs. Herrera.

If possible, make Mr. Herrera part of the party too! He can help out alot with the planning and suggest things that he knows about his wife. Also, because it%26#039;s his wife, I%26#039;m guessing he%26#039;s willing to help out financially too.

Also, bring presents! [obviously...]

As for you, awkward as it may be, I%26#039;d play the %26quot;girl problems%26quot; card. Nobody wants to ask to go to the nurse in front of the entire class, right? That should buy you a minute or two, if you be chatty about it.

I assume you see at least a few of the other kids in class some other time during the day, or at least have lunch with them. If you be very serious about it with the people you can tell, it will probably get around by word of mouth. Or you could wait until she is out of the room for real some time.

One student will bring cups, others could pack a 2-liter of soda.

3.) Make a few fliers explaining that you%26#039;re all going to throw a surprise party. This should be done before class starts or after.

4.) If you need to keep Mrs. Herrera busy outside her door, say, %26quot;Mrs. Herrera, I need to speak to you privately after school about a delicate situation a friend of mine is in. Since your Spanish is excellent, I thought you%26#039;d be able to help translate a particularly sensitive document regarding health care. I really trust you, so I told my friend that you might be able to help her...%26quot; In other words, be mysterious and long-winded.

5.) Make sure that you have a card that her students can sign! Also, make sure that her classroom is not left a big fat mess after your surprise party.

Dream of a baby angel...?

The other night I had an extremely vivid dream that I was sitting on the couch watching tv and a baby angel apeared in my livngroom, smiled,waved and vanished. It was so peaceful and an amazing feeling to see this baby. My 29th birthday is in a week or so and my twin died 6 weeks after we were born(we were both born with congenital heart desease).

Am I reading too much into this??? There are times I just get this overwhelming feeling to visit his grave~not take flowers or anything-i just have to go there. Am I crazy to think this dream could have had something to do with him?

He was your twin so naturally you still feel very connected to him even in death. The baby angel in your dream may have very well been him sending you encouragement because he knows that having your 29th birthday in a week is really bothering you.

It%26#039;s basically a continuous movie with shots of nature, ie flowers opening, grass blowing in the wind, bugs crawling etc (all real) and it has Classical music played throughout. For example, for Van Gogh%26#039;s Starry Night, they close in on the mountain on the left, and you see many animals and other creatures tucking their babies into bed. As for flowers, you could do daffodils if it%26#039;s early spring, and lilies (not sure if it%26#039;s Oriental or Asiatic lilies) come in pink. Tulips come in pretty much every color, so they%26#039;re good too. Daisies might look nice with this color scheme.

Reply:Put the girls in a darker shade of pink or you could even put them in a graduated color scheme. As for flowers, there are tons of flowers in a variety of colors. I would stick with white or ivory and green. Very nice. If you want to include the color of the grooms suit, like a dark blue, there are very nice blue flowers (hydrangea or blue forget-me-knots).

Maybe a pretty shade of sage for the bridesmaids? And as for flowers? What time of year is it? Flowers that are out of season are harder to get. (IE Lilacs.) Roses are always beautiful, as are gardenias.
Reply:it%26#039;s hard to include pics when we don%26#039;t know the style of her dress or the formality of the wedding. is it day or night? is it formal or semi-formal? either way, her bridesmaids could wear a darker shade of pink. not a brighter shade, like hot pink, but a darker shade like magenta or the pinkish shade of rubies. you could also use chocolate brown as the colors for the maids. however, this would mean light or dark brown tuxes or suits for the men. i think any other colors would start to look too busy. this will be monochromatic, but still help the bride stand out as the one in the lightest dress. having the maids in a different color will cause them to stand out as the dominate force in pics.

also, for flowers use white ones. again, this will cut down on competing colors and still stand out from the dresses. for the maids, use long-stemmed white calla lillies that they lay across their arms the way a beauty queen holds her flowers. for the bride, use white roses or other white blooms that are short-stemmed so she can hold them in the traditional pose as she links arms with her father down the aisle. since the dresses are colored, keep everything neutral and white to avoid a color overload.

Reply:I think that black dresses with accents that are the same color as the brides dress would be gorgeous. For flowers blush calla lillies are beautiful and gerbera (pronounced Gerber) daisies are perfect for bridesmaids to carry.

Check out alfred angelo and eden bridals for ideas on dresses they have tons that you can have in solid color with colored sashes and such.

they had a nest on top of my wind chim and the mom had been flying back and forth constantly, then I didnt see her for a couple days and the babys were looking dehydrated its been in the 90%26#039;s here, and they wernt making any noise, so I got worried and my mom talked me into saving them so I have 4 baby finches in a bird cage- they have all their feathers and can fly just not well their feathers need to grow out more so they have control of their flight. I took them outside today (put the cage on the porch) while I was watering my flowers, 2 adult finches came down and were looking in the cage and landed on the cage now I am thinking those might be the parents and I have had them for 2 full days I dont know weather I should put the nest back up and put the birds in there or if its too late and I need to keep them I heard it was a myth that the mama bird will reject the babies after human touch but I dont know - and since I pulled the nest down with them - will the parents go back to it

Put them back where they were the parents will not reject them because of your scent birds have a very poor sense of smell. The parents coming to them proves they will not reject them. It also shows they were not abandoned which is why you should not assume the parents are not around just because you haven%26#039;t seen them
Reply:Yes, they should go back to the nest if you place the nest near the same location with the babies in it.
Reply:Put these birds back immediately..you should have never removed them from the nest in the first place..you actually did more harm than good and you broke the law. If you took the nest down..you can get a basket with a handle and put the chicks in it with some soft warm %26quot;nesting%26quot; material and hang the basket up so it is in the same location as the original nest. The parents should come back to feed them You are right, it IS a myth about parents abandoning babies due to them being touched..birds have a poorly developed sense of smell and will not abandon due to this. Please..put the birds back..you are not equipped to raise them as you would not be able to teach them how to forage/survive in the wild..the parents WILL. In the future..do not interfere with wild birds nests.
